and has developed numerous projects in the fields of housing, services and retail, urban design, hospitality, interiors and design.

PhD in Architecture from the Universidade Lusíada - Oporto in 2016, and holds a Master's degree in Design from FAUP - The Faculty of Architecture of Oporto in 1998. Architect from the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon in 1989. Believes that architecture is a privileged mean of improving the quality of life and human comfort, while respecting memory, biodiversity and the environment, and that project design is a powerful political instrument for proposing, organizing and anticipating.

Teacher of Architecture at the Universidade Lusíada of Oporto since 1994, he coordinates the 2nd year of the course and the Postgraduate Course in ‘Digital Practices’. Guest Professor on the Design Course at the University of Aveiro in 1997/98.

President of the Disciplinary Council of the Center Section of the Portuguese Order of Architects, between 2020 and 2023. He was President of the Aveiro Architects' Association between 2007 and 2010, as well as National Delegate in the three-year period from 2010 to 2013 in Lisbon. 

With a studio in Aveiro, founded RVDM, arquitectos Lda in 1997. A winner of national and international design competitions, his portfolio includes completed public and private projects across the country, from north to south. His work has been published in Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, China, South Korea, Japan, the United States and Brazil, and a monograph on his work was published by Archinews #50 in 2021.
