Casa em Aveiro
From the generous plot, the surroundings, are not significant, so the house tries to define an internal grid like a urban landscape. It develops its program with one floor only, extending its internal perceived space over the landscape.
Separating intimate and common uses it offers a longitudinal filter consisting of toilets, atriums and changing rooms. Three courtyards complete the house organization criterion, mediating the relationship between exterior and interior and organizing the different programs.
The common area is an informal, barrier-free space that extends between the living room, kitchen, the office and the south courtyard. The intimate zone hierarchizes the family space by sharing the anteroom with a north faced courtyard, while an extra bedroom lateralizes towards east.
The house uses mainly two materials - wood and concrete. It is intended that the house ages with the expression of the surrounding nature. Concrete will approach the earth tone, wood will seems like concrete.
