Casas Agras Norte

The request, which required similar program for the two houses, posed an additional challenge: giving priority both to landscape and sunshine. The first one is oriented towards the west. The second happens to the south. To conciliate these two demands the deformation of the volumetry acts better.

O pedido, que exigia programas similares para as duas, casas colocou um desafio adicional ao projecto: privilegiar simultaneamente a paisagem e o sol. A primeira está orientada para poente. O segundo sente-se mais a sul. Conciliar estas duas vontades obrigou à deformação da volumetria para melhor exposição solar e revelando a extensão da paisagem em doses iguais para as duas casas.

The houses were arranged in two volumes. The upper one, deformed on itself, with two floors, includes the living spaces. Below is a regular solid with services spaces. The "wrinkling" of the brown volume was reinforced by the texture created by the ventilated facades that lined the houses with panels of HPL of 305cm by 125cm, contrafiados, salient and reentrant. This materialization was optimized for the placement of covers in the same material that, running laterally could make the house enclosable with the same cover.

Inside the upper volume, the two houses are drawn from the same matrix on both floors. Internal toilets or storage rooms create opaque blocks that organize privacies and define alignments.
